In an important decision, the Telangana High Court has placed new restrictions on children attending cinemas. Effective immediately, kids under the age of 16 are not allowed to enter theaters before 11 a.m. or after 11 p.m. Justice B. Vijaysen Reddy announced this ruling on January 27, aiming to protect younger audiences from late-night and early-morning film screenings.

This ruling is part of an ongoing legal review involving several petitions, including those related to popular Telugu films like Pushpa: The Rule Part 2 and Game Changer. The petitions raised concerns about strange show timings, special benefit screenings, and rising ticket prices.

The court has stated that these new rules will apply to all films in the future. Earlier, Justice Reddy had banned shows scheduled between 1 a.m. and 8 a.m. due to a tragic incident at the Sandhya Cinema during the premiere of Pushpa: The Rule Part 2, which resulted in a stampede.

This ruling highlights the court’s commitment to the safety and well-being of children by limiting their exposure to movies during late hours. The objective is to create a safer and more responsible cinema experience for younger viewers.
