Ajay Devgn, a well-known figure in Bollywood, recently opened up about his love for pranks during a chat with YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia. He revealed that some of his practical jokes were quite wild, with a few even having serious consequences, including causing divorces.
In a lighthearted moment from the interview, Ajay shared a memorable prank he pulled on a cameraman while filming. His frequent collaborator, filmmaker Rohit Shetty, joined in on the laughter, recounting a particularly extreme prank where they sent a woman and her children to visit a member of the production crew, falsely claiming she was his ex-wife. Rohit quipped, "We’ve gone to that level too."
Reflecting on the past, Ajay acknowledged that pranks today come with considerations that weren’t as prevalent back then. He humorously admitted, “There have been one or two divorces because of us.”
Costume designer Dolly Ahluwalia chimed in about her experiences working with Ajay on the film Omkara, recalling one prank that left people feeling faint. She explained, “Ajay was the biggest prankster on set. Once, some guys went unconscious after eating a ladoo made with bhaang. When they fell, Ajay and Vivek Oberoi joked, ‘Don’t worry, they will be fine.’ It was all in good fun, and even Vishal Bharadwaj, who managed the film, understood their playful nature.”
Currently, Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty are celebrating the success of their latest film, Singham Again, which is close to hitting Rs 200 crore at the Indian box office. However, the movie has received mixed reviews, with some critics noting that it follows a familiar pattern that doesn’t bring anything new to the table.
As the fun and chaos of Ajay Devgn’s pranks play out, fans can’t help but enjoy the lightheartedness he brings to his projects, both on and off the screen.
