Veteran actor Raza Murad recently found himself in hot water after a video of him drinking went viral on social media. Some users condemned the actor, believing he was consuming alcohol during the holy month of Ramzan. In light of the backlash, Murad took the opportunity to clarify that the clip was taken from a film shoot and did not depict a personal celebration.

Addressing his followers in the comments section, Murad explained that the scene was filmed in Chhatarpur, Delhi, not long ago as part of an upcoming movie. He highlighted that the footage featured a birthday celebration for his character, not his own birthday, which is celebrated in November. He stated, “Please don’t assume there was a party or any celebrations happening. The video is simply from a film scene, shot in Chhatarpur just a few days ago. It shows my character’s birthday being celebrated.”

He further requested that people refrain from jumping to conclusions about the video. “You suggest I’m drinking alcohol in public during Ramzan, which is completely incorrect,” he added.

The video was originally posted on Instagram by fellow actor Kiran Kumar, who also appeared in the clip. Kiran captioned the post with, “The older the friendship, the stronger it is! Sometimes, when you’re working with friends, the line between reality and a film scene can blur.”

Raza Murad has been a well-known name in Hindi cinema for over three decades, taking on diverse roles in various genres. He has worked alongside many notable figures in Bollywood and is recognized for his powerful screen presence. With a career spanning from the 90s to contemporary projects, his contributions to Indian cinema are substantial, and he remains an influential personality in the film industry.
