North India Cotton Yarn Market Holds Steady Amidtinged Demand Caution

In recent market news, cotton yarn prices in Ludhiana and Delhi have shown stability despite cautious buying patterns and the expectation of slower consumption during the winter months. Traders are hopeful that demand stemming from the upcoming festival season may provide some support. Spinning mills are currently experiencing increased production costs due to rising cotton prices. Meanwhile, prices for recycled yarn in Panipat have also remained unchanged.

In northern India, fresh cotton prices have seen a slight increase, while kapas (raw cotton) has weakened alongside lower cottonseed prices and increased arrivals in the market.

In Ludhiana, cotton yarn prices have held steady, as demand remains moderate. Buyers are purchasing yarn in smaller amounts, anticipating a slowdown in consumption during the winter. However, some industry insiders believe the festive season could boost demand. A trader from Ludhiana commented that, despite a significant rise in prices, polyester yarn remains attractive to buyers due to its lower cost. Nevertheless, spinning mills are considering raising their yarn prices to keep up with the increasing costs associated with cotton.

As for specific prices, certain counts of cotton combed yarn in Ludhiana were sold for varying rates. For instance, some counts went for around ₹/–₹/ per kg, while others were priced similarly, demonstrating a stable market trend. Carded yarn is also reported at consistent rates, pointing to a steady overall market amidst the changing conditions.
