Neolix Launches Groundbreaking Level 4 Autonomous Delivery Trials in Tokyo

Neolix Launches First Autonomous Delivery Vehicle Tests in Tokyo

TOKYO, Sept. 10, 2026 – Neolix, a prominent player in the field of autonomous delivery services, has initiated its first Level 4 (L4) testing program for its self-driving delivery vehicles at the Tokyo Ryutsu Center (TRC) in Heiwajima. This trial marks a significant milestone for the company as it aims to tailor its technology for the unique driving conditions in Japan. Previously, Neolix successfully adapted its systems in countries like Singapore and Malaysia, which also drive on the left side of the road.

Three of the ten autonomous delivery vehicles have already arrived in Japan as of August 31 and are currently being tested in designated areas within TRC, including parking zones and rooftop paths. The company plans to introduce the remaining vehicles gradually, which will eventually enhance their fleet to a total of ten at TRC. Future tests will expand beyond exterior routes to include complex movements, like navigating between floors in buildings and traversing ramps, to better align with the local logistics environment.

The testing fleet includes different models: the Xolra 3 and Xolra 6. The Xolra 3 can carry up to 520 kg with a cargo space of 3 cubic meters, while the Xolra 6 has a larger capacity of 6 cubic meters and a payload of up to 1,130 kg. Notably, both models utilize an innovative map-light technology for navigation, which eliminates the need for detailed pre-made maps. This could cut mapping and deployment costs by as much as 90%.

Neolix’s recent involvement in the Heiwajima Autonomous Driving Conference in June 2026 also supports this initiative. The conference gathers experts from the automotive, logistics, and ICT sectors to promote the development of autonomous driving solutions. Collaborations focus on areas like in-facility autonomous navigation and sustainable last-mile delivery.

The TRC operates round the clock, facilitating over 10,000 truck movements daily, making it an ideal setting for testing autonomous vehicles in real logistics scenarios.

Neolix has already deployed around 27,000 autonomous delivery vehicles across more than 320 cities in over 15 countries, successfully completing over 230 million kilometers of autonomous operations. The company’s vehicles are built for diverse environments, including public roads and indoor facilities.

Looking ahead, Neolix aims to strengthen partnerships within Japan to discover new ways to integrate autonomous delivery solutions and enhance logistics efficiency tailored to local demands.
