In a tragic event at a private school in Uttar Pradesh, two students lost their lives while another is currently recovering after suddenly falling ill. The incident reportedly began after the children had momos and French fries from a nearby shop on Sunday evening.

The two students who passed away have been identified as 12-year-old Nitin, a Class 6 boarder, and 9-year-old Arun Kushwaha, a Class 2 student. Both began experiencing severe vomiting and stomach pain at different times overnight.

Nitin, who hailed from Sarwasah village, fell ill around 1 a.m. on Monday. Initially, he was taken to the district hospital by school staff, but he was brought back to the school shortly after. At 7 a.m., he was taken to the hospital again, but it was too late, and he was pronounced dead.

Arun, from Mahendu village, began feeling unwell around 4 a.m. School personnel transported him to the district hospital around 6 a.m., but sadly, he passed away on the way to a medical college for further treatment.

A third student, 10-year-old Yogesh Shivhare, also fell ill on Monday afternoon. He was taken to the hospital and is now reported to be recovering.

Authorities have started an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths. The police have sent the bodies for post-mortem examinations, and the viscera have been preserved for testing to determine the exact cause of death.

Concerns have been raised regarding the school’s response during the crisis. Family members expressed frustration, stating they were only informed about the situation after the children had been taken to the hospital or had already passed away.

Relatives noted that the younger siblings of the deceased had mentioned that Nitin and Arun had requested staff to contact their parents for help during the night, but they were reportedly not allowed to do so.

The school manager, Om Prakash, has denied any negligence, asserting that staff acted promptly to take the children to the hospital when they fell ill and did everything possible to save them.

This heartbreaking situation has sparked a conversation about student safety and the quality of care provided within educational institutions.
