Akshay Kumar has embarked on a heartfelt project in partnership with the Anjaneya Sewa Trust, aiming to help manage the increasing monkey population in Ayodhya. This initiative focuses on providing these monkeys with clean and healthy food, recognizing the growing numbers and the need for a sustainable approach that benefits both wildlife and the environment. Currently, this program provides nutritious meals for over 1,250 monkeys.
In addition to attending to the monkeys, the initiative also cares for local cows by responsibly utilizing food waste. For instance, banana peels left from the monkeys’ meals are given to the cows, promoting a zero-waste practice. This clever system creates a balance in the ecosystem while minimizing waste.
Akshay Kumar shared a video showcasing this initiative on his social media, expressing his commitment with the words, “Ek chhoti si koshish…” which means “a small effort.”
By merging compassion and sustainability, this collaboration offers a positive example of animal welfare that emphasizes the importance of caring for both wild animals and farm animals while reducing the environmental footprint. This effort is a significant step towards a more sustainable future for the animals in Ayodhya.
Priya Gupta, founder trustee of the Anjaneya Sewa Trust, praised Kumar’s generosity, describing him as kind-hearted and socially aware. She noted that he was quick to provide support not only for animal welfare but also ensured that the feeding initiative would not inconvenience local citizens or lead to littering in Ayodhya.
On the professional front, Akshay Kumar is currently busy filming for Housefull 5, scheduled for release on June 6, 2025. Additionally, he is gearing up for his much-anticipated horror-comedy, Bhooth Bangla, which will be released on April 2, 2026, marking his return to work with the renowned director Priyadarshan.
