New Delhi: On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the growing influence of Indian culture around the world. He noted that people in diverse regions are increasingly embracing India’s music, spiritual practices, and ancient traditions.

In his monthly radio show, ‘Mann Ki Baat,’ the Prime Minister shared an inspiring example from the Dominican Republic. He mentioned a small group of locals, primarily Spanish speakers, who have come together to explore Vedic literature and learn to chant Vedic mantras.

“Today, Indian culture is reaching out to various parts of the world. People are discovering our music and spirituality,” said Prime Minister Modi, referring to the Dominican Republic, located in the Caribbean Sea.

Despite a very small Indian community there, estimated at around 100 people, a remarkable initiative to promote Indian traditions is being developed. The group, called ‘Brahmakamal Dominicana,’ is made up of passionate locals eager to learn.

“They have formed a team to study Vedic scriptures and practice chanting ancient Sanskrit mantras, even without formal training,” the Prime Minister explained. “They have learned the right pronunciation by listening to audio recordings.”

Thanks to their efforts, the members have become skilled in chanting several significant Vedic hymns, including Purusha Suktam, Sri Suktam, Sri Rudram, Durga Suktam, and Devi Mahatmyam.

“These individuals, despite being so far from India, are dedicated to learning our traditions, and their commitment is truly inspiring,” Modi added. He expressed his appreciation for the group’s hard work in spreading Indian culture globally.
