BJP Alleges Sonia Gandhi’s Ties to George Soros-Backed Group | India News

The BJP has made significant accusations against former Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, claiming she is linked to a group funded by George Soros that has reportedly supported the notion of an independent Kashmir. The party expressed its concerns in social media posts, suggesting this connection points to foreign influence on India’s domestic matters.

In their posts, the BJP stated, “Sonia Gandhi, as the Co-President of the FDL-AP Foundation, is associated with an organization backed by the George Soros Foundation. The FDL-AP Foundation has put forward views that treat Kashmir as a separate entity.” The BJP’s message emphasized that this relationship indicates how foreign entities may impact India’s internal affairs and political landscape.

Furthermore, the BJP pointed out that Sonia Gandhi, in her role as chair of the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation, has collaborated with the George Soros Foundation. They argue that this partnership shows the effect of foreign funding on Indian institutions.

In another post, the BJP claimed that Rahul Gandhi’s press conference regarding the Adani Group was broadcast by a George Soros-funded organization known as OCCRP. The party suggested this illustrates a troubling connection between Rahul Gandhi and Soros, reinforcing their argument regarding foreign interference in Indian politics.

On the other hand, despite the US denying any backing of efforts to destabilize India, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey stated he plans to question Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha. Dubey further accused OCCRP and Soros of conspiring with the opposition, alleging that their aim is to damage India’s economy and undermine the image of the Modi government.

In his social media post, Dubey reiterated, “I have read the US embassy officials’ statements multiple times. They acknowledged that the US government funds OCCRP, and Soros’ foundation also provides support. Their work is to undermine India’s economy and defame the Modi government alongside opposition leaders. Given this statement, I will be asking ten questions to Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha tomorrow.”

Meanwhile, the US government has dismissed the BJP’s claims about efforts to disrupt India’s stability, stating that allegations of targeting Prime Minister Modi and businessman Gautam Adani are unfounded.
