Exciting Financial Boost for Drishyam 3 Ahead of Release
In an important update for fans of the beloved Malayalam film series, Drishyam 3, trade expert Taran Adarsh has announced that PEN Studios is making a major investment. They will contribute Rs 100 crores to Aashirvad Cinemas through Panorama Studios for the upcoming film, which stars Mohanlal.
This investment highlights the confidence in the Malayalam original, especially considering its successful remakes across various languages. Directed by Jeethu Joseph, Drishyam 3 is set to hit theaters globally on May 21, 2026, a date that also marks Mohanlal’s birthday, making the release even more special.
Filming for the Malayalam version of Drishyam 3 has already wrapped up and is currently in the final stages of post-production. The shooting began on September 22, 2025, and concluded on December 2, 2025. This film is expected to serve as the last chapter in a thrilling saga that started in 2013 and has since spawned several adaptations, including successful Hindi versions featuring Ajay Devgn.
Director Jeethu Joseph has taken a fresh approach this time, starting with the climax and then developing the story around it. This intriguing twist has sparked excitement among fans who have enjoyed the complex narratives in earlier films.
The core family cast will be returning, with Mohanlal reprising his role as Georgekutty, alongside Meena (Rani), Ansiba Hassan (Anju), and Esther Anil (Anu). Their consistent presence has been crucial to the emotional depth of the series.
Additionally, Taran Adarsh noted that producers Antony Perumbavoor, Kumar Mangat Pathak, and Jayantilal Gada are also involved in the project.
With its release date confirmed, completed filming, and substantial financial backing, Drishyam 3 is on track for a highly anticipated theatrical launch, as excitement grows over how Georgekutty’s story will conclude.
