Young Man Stabbed to Death in Southall, London

A 26-year-old man of Indian descent has tragically lost his life after a stabbing incident in Southall, London. The victim has been named as Gurbhej Singh, according to the Metropolitan Police.

Emergency services were alerted shortly after midnight on Wednesday, following reports of a knife attack on North Road, near the intersection with Dormers Wells Lane. Upon arrival, officers found two men injured and they were treated by paramedics at the scene.

Sadly, Gurbhej Singh was pronounced dead shortly thereafter, having sustained serious stab wounds. The second man, who is in his 30s, received treatment at the hospital and has since been discharged.

In connection with this incident, police have arrested seven men, mainly in their twenties and late thirties, on suspicion of murder. Following initial investigations, six of them were released with no further action, while the seventh was granted bail to return later for questioning.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell from the Met Police’s Specialist Crime Command has made an urgent appeal for witnesses. She encourages anyone who saw what happened or has relevant CCTV footage to come forward and assist in the investigation.

“I urge anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident and hasn’t spoken to police yet to get in touch,” Foxwell stated. “My thoughts are with Mr. Singh’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.”

The police believe that Singh was attacked outside a shop around 12:30 am on Wednesday. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are still trying to determine the motive behind this tragic event. Support has been extended to Singh’s family as they navigate this heartbreaking loss.
