Mandira Bedi, a well-known figure in acting and sports, is set to make her comeback on screen with the South Indian film titled Identity. The film boasts a talented cast, featuring Tovino Thomas, Trisha, and Vinay Rai, and it marks Mandira’s first appearance in Malayalam cinema.
Mandira, who first gained fame with the classic Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, has had a dynamic career, taking on various roles in different languages. She previously dipped her toes into South Indian cinema with her performance in the action movie Saaho.
In a recent statement, Mandira expressed her enthusiasm about the project, saying, “Identity captured my interest right from the moment I heard the script. It’s something I’ve never tried before. For me, it’s not about the medium or the language, but about how compelling the role is. I’m thrilled because South films have such a massive audience today, and they’re no longer limited to just one market; they’re being watched worldwide. This gives us actors a chance to reach a larger viewer base.”
In addition to her acting career, Mandira has taken an interest in pickleball and is becoming an important figure in promoting the sport in India. She is also actively supporting women’s cricket in the country, balancing her passions for both acting and sports.
