Reliance Retail recently announced its acquisition of Anomaly, the haircare brand founded by Priyanka Chopra Jonas. This deal includes the brand’s trademarks, intellectual property, and digital assets, representing a significant step in Reliance Retail’s aim to enhance its beauty and personal care offerings.

Anomaly, launched in 2021, has made a name for itself by offering vegan and high-performance haircare products at affordable prices. The brand has established a strong international presence and is now set for further expansion under Reliance Retail’s umbrella.

With this acquisition, Reliance Retail gains complete ownership of Anomaly, allowing the company to grow the brand through its extensive offline and online retail channels. They plan to utilize their advanced sales network, including their beauty platform Tira, to broaden Anomaly’s reach to consumers.

Isha Ambani, Executive Director of Reliance Retail Ventures, expressed excitement about the acquisition, calling it a strategic move to strengthen their collection of modern, high-growth beauty brands. She highlighted Anomaly’s global reputation and commitment to clean formulations, stating that there is great potential in working with Priyanka to advance the brand in India and globally.

India will be a key market for Anomaly going forward, with special product innovations tailored to local hair and scalp needs. At the same time, Reliance Retail is also looking to expand Anomaly’s presence in regions like North America, the UK, and the Middle East.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas will continue to be actively involved with Anomaly as its Creative Director. She shared her enthusiasm for this new chapter, highlighting that the acquisition not only enhances Anomaly’s market reach but also aligns with the brand’s purpose and ambitions. Priyanka emphasized her commitment to guiding Anomaly’s future while maintaining its original vision.

This acquisition is part of Reliance Retail’s broader strategy to invest in innovative consumer brands, combining global appeal with strong retail capabilities to fuel the next phase of growth.
