Kajal Aggarwal and Shreyas Talpade are gearing up for their new film, The India Story, which is set to hit theaters on July 24. This socio-national drama, produced by Zee Studios in collaboration with MIG Productions, is directed by Chettan DK and written by Sagar B Shinde.
The film, also known as The India Story: Slow Poison in Progress, focuses on the serious issue of chemical misuse, particularly in pesticide farming. The filmmakers aim to shed light on a broader public health crisis that affects many lives, going beyond just the challenges faced by one family.
Producer Sagar B Shinde explained why this story is important, saying, “We wanted to highlight a reality that often goes unnoticed but impacts many people throughout the country. The misuse of chemicals in pesticide farming is not only an environmental issue but a human crisis as well. Through this film, we hope to spark awareness and meaningful discussions about accountability and the need for change.”
The makers intend for the film to blend a socially important topic with a compelling narrative, addressing issues related to industrial negligence and regulatory responsibilities.
Director Chettan DK praised the dedication of the entire team and the performances of the lead actors. He remarked, “Everyone, from the crew to the cast, has shown great commitment to make this story authentic. Kajal and Shreyas have delivered fantastic performances, enhancing the film significantly. We’ve worked hard to keep the story engaging and impactful.”
The India Story will also be the first time Kajal Aggarwal and Shreyas Talpade appear together on screen, bringing a fresh chemistry to its intense storyline.
The project involves a talented support team, including co-producers Sumit Bagade, Anita Jadhav, Vinayak Saidani, Kalpesh Shah, Devyani Khorate, and Prem Joshi. The technical crew features cinematographer Nishant Bhagwat, music composer Mangesh Dhakde, editor Ashish Mhatre, lyricist Shakeel Azami, and sound designer Anmol Bhave.
The film will be released in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil worldwide as part of Zee Studios’ distribution on July 24.
