Shreyas Iyer’s Rallying Cry for PBKS: “I Don’t Believe in Impossible” Ahead of IPL 2026 Clash with LSG

Shreyas Iyer Leads Punjab Kings to New Heights in IPL 2026

Shreyas Iyer has become the key player in the Punjab Kings’ impressive run in IPL 2026. His fearless mindset and ability to stay calm in tough situations have turned the team into a serious contender for the title this season.

Once seen as underperformers in the league, the Kings have transformed into a well-organized team under Iyer’s leadership. He has been a standout performer both as a batsman and as a captain, helping the team maintain an unbeaten streak as they prepare to take on the Lucknow Super Giants in their next match.

In a sneak peek of an interview on JioHotstar’s ‘Believe’ show with Irfan Pathan, Iyer shared insights into his leadership approach.

“I can’t stand the word ‘impossible.’ When you manage your emotions, it helps you think clearly and make quick decisions,” he said, emphasizing the mindset that has driven the team this season. He added, “It’s not over until the last ball is bowled. For me, winning is everything.”

This clear approach has shown in Punjab’s performances, especially in critical moments where Iyer has often stepped up to finish games. His focus on keeping calm under pressure and trusting his instincts has helped the team shed its previous reputation for collapsing at crucial times.

The team’s turnaround has also been supported by head coach Ricky Ponting. Together, Iyer and Ponting have built a confident squad that plays fearlessly while still observing discipline.

Despite the strong performance so far, Iyer remains realistic about the challenges ahead. Punjab Kings are among the few franchises yet to secure an IPL title, alongside the Lucknow Super Giants and Delhi Capitals, and the road to the playoffs is still lengthy.

As they gear up to face LSG, PBKS is eager to keep their winning momentum going. While they may seem favored on paper, Iyer’s mindset leaves no room for taking things lightly.

For Iyer, who embraces overcoming challenges, the term “impossible” serves not as a limitation but as motivation, driving the Punjab Kings in their quest for a successful season.
