Neetu Kapoor has recently addressed rumors about the Kapoor family allegedly securing the copyright for her late husband Rishi Kapoor’s name. According to reports, this step would mean that anyone wishing to use Rishi’s name in commercial or public settings would need to get permission from the family.
When contacted for clarification, Neetu Kapoor expressed her uncertainty, stating, “Hi Subhash, I am not aware of this.” When pressed about whether the news was inaccurate, she replied, “I think so. I am not sure.”
Family friend and singer Nitin Mukesh voiced his doubts regarding the claim as well. He recalled that Rishi, affectionately known as Chintu, was not the type to have a stylized persona that could easily be copyrighted. Mukesh remarked, “Chintu was… how do I put it… inimitable,” contrasting him with his father, the legendary Raj Kapoor, who was famously known for his unique mannerisms.
While some actors like Anil Kapoor and Shatrughan Sinha have sought legal protection for their distinctive styles, Rishi Kapoor’s situation seems to be more complicated. This latest speculation appears to be one that may not hold much truth.
