India Budget 2026: Emphasis on Dairy and Agriculture
As we approach Budget 2026, there is a growing call for focused investments in the dairy and agriculture sectors. Akshali Shah, the Executive Director of Parag Milk Foods, emphasized the need for improved infrastructure and enhanced farm productivity to help these sectors thrive. She stated that by boosting milk collection processes, India can become more competitive on a global scale.
Shah highlighted the importance of adopting modern processing technologies and organized supply chains. Such advancements would not only assist farmers and cut down on waste but also elevate the Indian dairy sector’s reputation for quality products worldwide.
Looking toward the future, Shah expressed hope that the upcoming budget will continue to bolster agricultural and dairy infrastructure, support rural communities, and promote the use of modern technology. She suggested that incentives for developing advanced processing facilities and expanding cold-chain logistics could significantly enhance milk availability and product quality.
By building on recent progress and providing farmers with better access to credit and resources, Shah believes the sector can become more resilient and meet the increasing demand of consumers.
