Brief: Attack at Tire Factory in Japan Leaves 15 Injured

Fifteen people were hurt during a shocking incident at a tire factory in central Japan on Friday. The attack involved stabbings and a chemical assault, leading to the arrest of a suspect.

The 38-year-old attacker reportedly injured eight individuals with a knife and used what is thought to be bleach to harm seven others at the Yokohama Rubber Co. facility in Mishima, which is located west of Tokyo. Authorities are still trying to determine the motive, but reports suggest the suspect may have been a former worker at the factory.

Witnesses described the attacker as carrying a survival knife and wearing a gas mask when the chaos unfolded. Five of the injured are said to be in serious condition, and first responders rushed to the scene to provide assistance.

Shizuoka prefecture police confirmed that the attacker was taken into custody for attempted murder. Fortunately, all victims were conscious while being transported to local hospitals.

The incident has left the community in shock, with many calling for increased safety measures in workplaces across the region.
