The ongoing situation regarding Don 3 is heating up, with Ranveer Singh now receiving backing from Padmini Kolhapure, the Vice-President of the Cine and TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA). This comes amid tensions between Excel Entertainment and the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE).

The issue began when reports surfaced about Ranveer Singh’s unexpected exit from Don 3, which allegedly resulted in significant financial losses for the production company. According to Excel Entertainment, led by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, they claim that Singh’s departure has resulted in a loss of around Rs 45 crores due to prior investments in scouting locations and preparing for the film.

Excel also noted that Ranveer had a three-film deal and had been involved in script discussions before deciding to withdraw from the project. As the disagreement escalated, FWICE issued notices, asking Ranveer to clarify his stance. However, his legal team argued that FWICE lacked jurisdiction in this independent commercial matter.

Consequently, FWICE announced a non-cooperation directive, advising members across the film industry not to work with Ranveer until the conflict is resolved. In response to this, Padmini Kolhapure spoke to IANS, offering her strong support for the actor. She stated, “CINTAA is proud to have Ranveer Singh as our member. We stand by him and for him whenever he needs us.”

Earlier, CINTAA President Poonam Dhillon expressed concern about the lack of communication from either party. She emphasized that the association could have helped address the issue if given prior notice.

While the controversy unfolds, Ranveer’s team has chosen to remain quiet, preferring to avoid public speculation. Reports indicate that Salman Khan has also stepped in to help mediate between Ranveer and the Akhtar family, encouraging both sides to find a resolution without further jeopardizing their professional relationships in the industry.
