PVR Inox Opens India’s Highest Multiplex in Leh-Ladakh

The stunning regions of Kashmir and Leh-Ladakh are known for their breathtaking landscapes but have historically lacked cinema facilities. Since the revocation of Article 370 in August 2019, efforts have been made to change that. Following the introduction of Inox in Srinagar in 2024, Leh-Ladakh is now welcoming its very own multiplex.

PVR Inox has inaugurated a two-screen multiplex in Solar Colony, Saboo, Leh, marking a significant milestone in the area’s entertainment offerings. This multiplex is designed under the Franchise Owned Company Operated (FOCO) model, ensuring high-quality cinema experiences.

Equipped with advanced 2K projection, Dolby 7.1 sound, and Next-Gen 3D technology, the cinema promises a rich audio-visual experience comparable to the best cinemas around the globe. PVR Inox states that its custom audio system provides immersive sound quality.

This new multiplex is part of PVR Inox’s extensive network, which now has the largest number of screens in India, totaling 1,774 across 356 properties in 112 cities.

Situated at an impressive altitude of 11,500 feet, PVR Leh is now recognized as the highest multiplex in India. The facility includes Leh’s first modern food court, featuring popular dining options like KFC, Pizza Hut, and Costa Coffee, making it a multifaceted destination.

To kick off its opening, PVR Leh will screen the exciting Ranveer Singh film, Dhurandhar, alongside the Hollywood fantasy adventure, Avatar: Fire And Ash.

The launch of PVR in Leh is viewed as a turning point for local moviegoers and distributors looking to explore this previously untapped market. With its cutting-edge technology, diverse food options, and scenic location, the multiplex is set to become a favored spot for locals, visitors, and those in the armed forces. If the audience response to Dhurandhar and Avatar: Fire And Ash is strong, it could lead to even more screens and wider film releases in the region, finally bringing significant cinematic experiences to India’s rooftop.
