Shraddha Kapoor Faces Injury on Lavani Set for Eetha, Filming Paused: Report

The filming of Shraddha Kapoor’s upcoming biographical drama, Eetha, has been temporarily halted due to an injury the actress sustained while shooting a challenging Lavani dance sequence. According to reports, the incident occurred during an intense performance meant to honor the legendary folk artist Vithabai Narayangaonkar, whom Kapoor plays in the film.

Sources say that the choreography involved fast-paced steps set to Ajay-Atul’s lively music. During one segment of the dance, Kapoor lost her balance after shifting her weight onto her left foot, resulting in her injury.

Director Laxman Utekar immediately decided to stop the Nashik shooting schedule. Kapoor proposed using the downtime to film close-ups in a different location. This led the crew to move to a set in Madh Island, where she managed to shoot some emotional scenes. However, as her pain worsened, the production had to pause once again. It is expected that the team will reconvene in about two weeks once Kapoor has fully recovered.

In other news, Randeep Hooda has been confirmed as the male lead in Eetha. The next phase of shooting is set to take place later this month in Mumbai. Hooda will feature opposite Kapoor, and sources say the creators are optimistic about their casting choices, noting both actors’ depth and versatility.

Eetha tells the inspiring story of Vithabai Narayangaonkar, a celebrated figure in Maharashtra’s folk music scene. Known for her remarkable performances, Vithabai played a vital role in preserving traditional Lavani and Tamasha. Throughout her career, she received significant recognition, including two President’s Awards, and her legacy continues to influence future generations of artists.
