Pakistan’s Climate Challenges Need Global Help: Finance Minister

ISLAMABAD – During the virtual COP30 conference in Brazil, Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb emphasized that addressing climate challenges is crucial for Pakistan’s survival. He called for both financial and technical support from international organizations to tackle these pressing issues.

Aurangzeb noted that while Pakistan is evolving into an emerging economy, it faces significant climate-related problems that require immediate attention. He stressed that a united global effort is essential to mitigate the harmful impacts of climate change.

He expressed hope for better access to green climate funds and mentioned that Pakistan has already issued a green sukuk bond to aid in domestic climate initiatives. The minister reiterated the country’s urgent need for assistance to effectively address environmental challenges.

In conclusion, Aurangzeb highlighted that the climate crisis is a shared global concern, linking it directly to the future of Pakistan.
