Singapore Airlines Tops 2026 Skytrax World Airline Awards
Singapore Airlines has claimed the top spot in the 2026 Skytrax World Airline Awards, surpassing last year’s champion, Qatar Airways, which now stands in second place. The awards featured over 300 airlines, with Cathay Pacific Airways coming in third, followed by ANA All Nippon Airways at fourth, and Turkish Airlines in fifth.
Qantas, the Australian carrier, improved by two spots this year, landing in 12th place. It was also recognized as the Best Airline in the Australia/Pacific region.
Despite slipping to second, Qatar Airways still celebrated by winning four awards, including the title of World’s Best Business Class Airline. Singapore Airlines’ CEO, Goh Choon Phong, expressed gratitude to their customers for their continued support. “This honor reflects the commitment and professionalism of our staff, who work hard to maintain the high standards of service that Singapore Airlines is known for,” he stated.
In addition to its overall success, Singapore Airlines also took home two specific awards for Best Economy Class and Best Economy Class Onboard Catering. Edward Plaisted, CEO of Skytrax, emphasized the significance of this achievement, noting that it marks the sixth time Singapore Airlines has secured this top distinction.
AirAsia continued its impressive streak by winning the title of World’s Best Low-Cost Airline for the 17th consecutive year. Co-founder and CEO Tony Fernandes highlighted the challenges of the current aviation landscape but remained proud of the airline’s resilience and ongoing dedication to providing low-cost travel.
