A father and soon-to-be grandfather tragically lost his life to a shark attack while swimming at a beach in Australia this week. Greg O’Neill, aged 63, was in the water at Sorrento Beach, located in the northern suburbs of Perth, when the incident occurred. In response to the incident, Australia’s fisheries minister, Jackie Jarvis, has made a rare request for the catch-and-kill of the great white shark involved, despite it being a protected species. Authorities are still confirming whether O’Neill’s remains have been located, but they stated with confidence that he died due to the shark attack.
