The Rogue Prince of Persia Celebrates Anniversary with Exciting Update
The Rogue Prince of Persia, a stylish 2D side-scrolling game, has made a significant impact since its Early Access launch in 2024. Developed by the Evil Empire team, known for their great work on Dead Cells, the game officially launched on consoles in August of last year. Players can look forward to even more content in 2026, as the developers have promised new features and updates. The highly anticipated ‘Anniversary Update’ has now been released.
This update, marked as version 1.1.0, is available for all players now. It brings a wealth of new features and improvements to enhance the gameplay experience. While the full patch notes are available, here are some key highlights of what’s included:

- Balance adjustments made to multiple bosses

- New arena ‘challenge’ rooms scattered throughout the biomes
- An in-game timer and additional stats for players to track progress
- Numerous balance tweaks to improve overall gameplay
Even during its initial Early Access phase, The Rogue Prince of Persia stood out for its engaging gameplay, and it’s exciting to see the developers continue to enhance the experience for players.
Looking ahead, the Evil Empire team previously announced that they would be rolling out updates for The Rogue Prince of Persia through 2026. Fans were expecting two major updates, the Breathless Update and an Endgame update. While those were recently postponed, the Anniversary Update blends elements from both.
