Politico Unveils New Global Tech Policy Initiative “Decoded”
On Wednesday, Politico announced the introduction of a new initiative called “Decoded by Politico.” This program aims to explore the connections between technology, public policy, and power on a global scale.
The initiative will leverage the expertise of nearly 50 journalists stationed in major capitals around the world, including Washington, Sacramento, London, and Brussels. These reporters will highlight how technology policies impact the global economy. Starting on October 5, a daily newsletter will be released, and the initiative will also kick off a series of events called “Decoded Summits” beginning in Washington.
According to Jonathan Greenberger, the global editor-in-chief at Politico, “Decoded focuses on technologies that are more powerful than anything we’ve ever encountered, as well as the challenges these technologies present for policymakers. We believe this is an incredibly important story for our time.”
To lead the initiative, Christopher Cadelago has been appointed as the executive editor for global technology and California. He will work alongside Laura Greenhalgh in Brussels and Emma Anderson in California.
The upcoming newsletter will be written by Brendan Bordelon, Calder McHugh, Christine Mui, and Sam Sutton, with editing support from Anderson and John Hewitt Jones in Washington.
