Daxko Expands Its Reach into Childcare Management with Alaris Acquisition
Daxko, a well-known player in the fitness software industry, is taking a significant step forward by expanding its services to include childcare management. The company has announced its acquisition of Alaris, a platform that specializes in childcare compliance and management. This move is particularly aimed at supporting health clubs, YMCAs, JCCs, and Boys & Girls Clubs that offer programs like Kids Club, Child Watch, camps, and after-school activities.
While the financial details of the acquisition have not been revealed, this partnership equips Daxko with valuable tools to handle essential aspects of childcare. These include managing staff-to-child ratios, attendance records, meal tracking, medication administration, and licensing requirements.
Daxko’s CEO, Jeff VanDixhorn, emphasized the importance of reliable childcare management. He stated, “Childcare is one of the most trusted responsibilities a health club or similar organization can undertake. Staff deserve tools that support this responsibility.” By integrating Alaris into their offerings, Daxko aims to help organizations reduce time spent on manual compliance tasks, allowing them to focus on ensuring the safety and happiness of children in their care.
For those already using Daxko’s software, Alaris’ functionalities will be seamlessly integrated into existing platforms such as Daxko Operations, Daxko Core, Daxko Club Automation, and Daxko FitnessForce. This integration will streamline childcare information with existing member, donor, and operational data. Notably, Alaris will continue to be available as an independent product and will maintain its capability to work with other member management systems.
The Alaris platform provides many features for families, including the ability to check children in and out, receive real-time updates, and track information about meals, diaper changes, lessons, and medications. For childcare operators, the system ensures staff-to-child ratio compliance, tracks meals and snacks, facilitates state attendance submissions, prints security stickers, and offers multilingual support.
This acquisition contributes to Daxko’s strategy of broadening its software portfolio. Earlier this year, the company acquired FitnessForce, which focuses on membership management in various global markets, and has also partnered with Exercise.com and Vision, which serve the fitness industry and youth organizations, respectively.
Daxko has expressed an ambitious vision, pledging to adopt an AI-first strategy and expanding beyond traditional gym management with new programs like Elevate Wellness. They now serve over 19,000 fitness and wellness facilities across 68 countries, marking significant growth and innovation in the industry’s landscape.
