South Korean Foreign Minister to Visit Nepal Amid Flood Recovery Efforts
SEOUL: South Korea’s Foreign Minister Cho Hyun will be traveling to Nepal from Saturday to Monday for important talks with his Nepali counterpart, according to a statement from the ministry.
During his visit, Minister Cho plans to meet with South Korean officials who are currently in Nepal to assist with search-and-rescue efforts following severe flooding that occurred on August 26. The floods have caused substantial devastation, with estimated losses reaching around $2.56 billion, as reported by officials.
Additionally, Cho will connect with families of nine workers who remain missing after the disaster at a hydropower project. This visit highlights South Korea’s commitment to supporting Nepal during this challenging time.
