Health Tech Companies Make Significant Gains in Funding This August

This August, various health tech companies announced impressive funding rounds, showcasing the growing momentum in the industry. Here’s a look at some of the notable investments from the month.

Cityblock Secures $116 Million in Series E Funding

New York-based Cityblock, which provides clinical, behavioral, and social health services to patients in community settings, has raised $116 million. The company primarily focuses on serving Medicaid recipients and individuals eligible for dual programs. Cityblock leverages an AI-driven system that compiles data on physical, behavioral, and social health to give care teams valuable insights.

This latest funding round will help Cityblock acquire Homeward Health, a provider of rural healthcare services. The investment will also enhance their platform, improving operations, care models, technology, and data management systems.

Happy Health Raises $75 Million

Happy Health, known for its FDA-approved smart ring that diagnoses obstructive sleep apnea at home, has announced a funding of $75 million. Their platform also monitors daily sleep health and treatment management, using continuous health data and AI to tailor a health baseline for each patient. Although sleep health is their initial focus, Happy Health aims to branch out into other areas.

The funding, provided by ARCH Venture Partners and OpenLoop, will allow Happy Health to speed up clinical validation of its technology and develop infrastructure for future expansion.

Flagler Health Closes $50 Million in Series B Funding

Flagler Health, an AI-powered system for musculoskeletal care based in New York City, has raised $50 million in its Series B round. This platform helps MSK practices manage their operations efficiently and treat patients effectively between appointments. Currently, Flagler collaborates with thousands of providers across 36 states.

The funding round was led by Bessemer Venture Partners and included participation from several investors. With this investment, Flagler Health aims to grow its footprint across the United States.

Network Bio Launches with $50 Million in Funding

Palo Alto’s Network Bio, a biotechnology firm developing disease-specific AI models from human biological data, has also made headlines with its $50 million in funding. The company partners with academic medical institutions to enhance diagnostics, biomarker discovery, and drug development.

The financial backing came from notable investors, including Section 32, Thiel Bio, and Founders Fund, among others. The funds will assist Network Bio in expanding its life science platform.

These significant funding rounds reflect the ongoing growth and innovation in the health tech sector as companies strive to improve healthcare delivery and outcomes.
