KPCC Chief Criticizes RSS and Highlights Drought Concerns
Bidar: The President of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), BK Hariprasad, addressed the media at Bidar airport on Saturday, expressing strong opinions about the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). He asserted that it is essential to speak out against the RSS, particularly when it engages in activities detrimental to the nation.
Hariprasad claimed that the members of the RSS did not take part in the struggle for India’s independence and were opposed to it. He raised concerns over their attitude towards the Indian Constitution, the national anthem, and the national flag, questioning how they could be honored when they stand against fundamental national values.
In addition to his criticisms of the RSS, Hariprasad also shed light on the pressing issue of drought affecting 18 districts in the state. He noted that the situation is dire, and the state government has appealed for financial assistance of Rs 10,000 crore to address the crisis. He mentioned that Chief Minister DK Shivakumar had requested the central government to send a team to assess the drought situation, but these requests have yet to be met.
Hariprasad suggested that if the legislative session proceeded without disruptions, key issues, including the drought situation, would be discussed. He accused the BJP of playing politics by protesting and bringing attention to the name of Minister B Nagendra. He criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not providing the necessary support and claimed that he is merely backing Home Minister Amit Shah without taking any substantial action.
On a lighter note, he mentioned that BJP leaders could hold a padayatra (march) from Bengaluru to Bellary, indicating that it wouldn’t pose a challenge for them.
