Google has announced exciting new offers aimed at students, including a range of features in its Gemini app like a dedicated Student Hub, study notebooks, and various learning tools. College students in India can now access a free 12-month subscription to Google AI Plus, while a discounted rate is available for Google AI Pro. Along with these offers, Google is also launching new learning features across its Gemini platform and Search.

These student-focused offers are being rolled out globally. In places where Google AI Plus is not offered, such as the USA, Canada, and Hong Kong, students can enjoy Google AI Pro without any charge.

For students in India, the subscription plans are quite attractive:

- Google AI Pro: ₹489 per month for up to four years

How to Access Student Offers
To take advantage of these offers, students must be currently enrolled in an accredited educational institution. They can visit the Google One student offer page, sign in with their personal Google account, select their preferred plan, and click on “Get student offer.”
Students will need to confirm their eligibility by providing information to SheerID, a service that verifies enrollment in educational institutions. After entering the required details and following the instructions, students can complete the verification process.
New Features for Students
Google is introducing study notebooks in the Gemini app, designed to make learning more interactive. Students can set a learning goal or upload their course material; Gemini can then create a diagnostic quiz to assess areas needing improvement. It will generate a plan with short, interactive lessons that can be updated based on quiz feedback or new materials.
Additionally, the app will now feature Deep Research, which allows users to conduct multi-step research tasks while using the app or even when their phones are locked. Gemini will handle the research in the background and notify users once their report is ready.
Google is also enhancing AI-assisted learning in Search. The AI Mode can generate study guides and interactive quizzes utilizing information from the web along with uploaded files.
For added convenience, Google has created a dedicated Student Hub within Gemini, available at gemini.google.com/students, where students can access all study-related features, including notebooks, flashcards, and practice quizzes.
