Gorenje Achieves Top EcoVadis Platinum Medal for Sustainability Again

Gorenje, a leading name in home appliances, has once more earned the prestigious EcoVadis Platinum Medal, placing it among the top 1% of over 150,000 companies evaluated globally for their sustainability efforts. With a notable score of 89 out of 100—up from 87 last year—Gorenje has solidified its status as one of the highest-rated companies in sustainability. This accolade emphasizes the company’s commitment to improving daily life while also acting responsibly towards people, communities, and the environment.

Every appliance comes from a series of choices that consumers don’t usually see. These include decisions about how products are made, how resources are managed, how suppliers are chosen, and how employees are treated. These are the key areas evaluated by EcoVadis, one of the leading platforms for assessing sustainability. The assessment method looks beyond just the products and focuses on how thoroughly sustainability is embedded in a company’s operations and value chain.

The achievement is even more significant as Gorenje is the only major manufacturer in the home appliance sector to earn the EcoVadis Platinum rating for two years running.

A spokesperson for Gorenje said, “Being recognized among the world’s top 1% of companies is an achievement we are proud of, but it also comes with great responsibility. This honor reflects the hard work and collaboration of our teams who turn our sustainability goals into everyday practices.”

This recognition comes at a time when consumers are increasingly demanding more from the brands they choose for their homes. They are looking for durable products that utilize resources wisely and support them in making better choices in their daily lives. Gorenje understands that these two aspects must go hand in hand.

For over 75 years, Gorenje has aimed to simplify everyday life. This philosophy now also guides its approach to sustainability, focusing on helping people live better lives while using fewer resources. The company designs durable products, operates responsibly, and works to create a positive impact beyond the household.
