Avika Gor, known for her role as Anandi in the well-loved TV show Balika Vadhu, has been hospitalized after being diagnosed with dengue fever. The actress had been struggling with a high fever for five days prior to her admission. Her husband, Milind Chandwani, provided an update on her condition and asked fans to keep her in their thoughts as she recovers.
Milind shared on Instagram a video revealing that Avika was hospitalized the night before. He highlighted her dedication, mentioning that she continued to work despite being unwell.
“Avika has been in the hospital since last night. She had a fever of 103 to 104 degrees for five days. During that time, she completed two days of shooting in just one day, showing incredible resilience. After returning home for a short break, she spent the day resting but still traveled to Delhi to shoot an advertisement, all while feeling sick. When we tested her, it confirmed dengue,” he explained. He had previously encouraged her to postpone her work, but she insisted on fulfilling her commitments to avoid inconveniencing others.
Milind expressed admiration for Avika’s work ethic and her consideration for others, saying, “Her respect for her work and others’ time is truly commendable. Not many in this industry share that mindset. Please keep her in your prayers. I am so proud of her,” he added.
Avika started her acting journey as a child artist in the 2007 series Ssshhhh… Koi Hai, and she gained recognition for her role in Balika Vadhu. She has also appeared in shows like Sasural Simar Ka and Laado – Veerpur Ki Mardani. In addition to television, she has worked in both Hindi and Telugu films and is currently a contestant on Khatron Ke Khiladi 15. Her most recent Telugu film was Ugly Story.
