New Leadership at Hartford HealthCare Cancer Institute
On July 31, 2026, Dr. Adam M. Boruchov has been appointed as the new physician-in-chief of the Hartford HealthCare Cancer Institute. Dr. Boruchov is a well-respected hematologic oncologist and brings a wealth of experience to this role.
Previously, he served as the senior vice president and chair of the Cancer Institute at Northwell Health, where he was instrumental in developing cancer care strategies, enhancing clinical research, and establishing effective cancer care networks.
Dr. Boruchov takes over from Dr. Peter Yu, who has dedicated over ten years to leading the institute. Under Dr. Yu’s leadership, the Cancer Institute gained recognition as one of Connecticut’s top integrated cancer programs, known for its innovation and commitment to patient-centered care. Following his departure as physician-in-chief, Dr. Yu will continue to support the institute as physician-in-chief emeritus, focusing on important initiatives in oncology informatics.
In his new position, Dr. Boruchov aims to foster innovation, strengthen leadership among physicians, and enhance the collaboration with the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. His goal is to ensure that more patients in Connecticut have access to state-of-the-art cancer care.
