Exciting Developments in Ramayana Film Project
The excitement around the film Ramayana continues to grow, especially after Sony Pictures joined the project to handle global distribution outside India. Recently, another major player has entered the scene—T-Series, a well-known name in the music industry.
Sources indicate that several top music labels were vying for the music rights, but T-Series successfully completed the deal with a significant offer. A T-Series insider confirmed that they have acquired the music rights for both parts of Ramayana, and there’s a strong belief within the company about the potential success of the film’s soundtrack.
As part of the deal, T-Series has paid an advance of ₹75 crores for these rights, which will include the music for both segments of the epic. However, it’s important to note that this amount is part of a refundable advance arrangement.
This agreement is one of the largest music-rights deals ever made by an Indian music company, reinforcing T-Series’ stronghold in the industry. It also raises anticipation for the soundtrack of Ramayana, set to be one of the most awaited films of the year.
The film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman, and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, known for his work on Dangal, and produced by Namit Malhotra, the score features compositions by A R Rahman and Hans Zimmer. The first part of the film is scheduled for release during Diwali 2026, with the second part to follow in Diwali 2027.
