The trailer for Bhai Tera Star Hai has sparked interest with its fun storyline and Raghav Juyal’s engaging performance. The film is set to be released on July 30, coinciding with the premiere of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. In a recent interview, producer-director Vivek B Agarwal shared insights about the release strategy.
Vivek stated, “Honestly, there’s not much of a strategy behind this. I did my homework. After July 30, the next chance to release my film might not be until the end of February 2027. There are several major Bollywood films lined up, and either big releases or a mix of Bollywood and South Indian films are happening almost every week.”
He explained further, “I noticed that besides Dhamaal 4 in July, there weren’t any major Hindi films scheduled until mid-August. It was either a choice of competing with a big Hindi film or releasing alongside Spider-Man, so this seemed to be the best option. With no other Hindi films releasing for almost a month, I thought my film could attract an audience looking for something in Hindi.”
When discussing the film’s screen count, Vivek mentioned, “PVR Inox Pictures is handling the distribution in India, and we are aiming for 900 to 1,000 screens.”
The promo for Bhai Tera Star Hai brings back memories of unique, low-budget films that production houses like UTV and Phantom produced in the 2000s and early 2010s. Such films have shown they can perform well at the box office, as seen with Main Vaapas Aaunga, which surprised many by doing well. Vivek emphasized the importance of a theatrical release instead of going directly to OTT platforms.
“I agree that there has been a shift in mindset. If the film is good, audiences will go to theaters,” he stated. Raghav and he were both eager for Bhai Tera Star Hai to be released in cinemas. They launched an active marketing campaign where Raghav interacts with fans, encouraging them to watch the film in theaters.
“The content is crucial, and people need to like the trailers and songs to be interested in going to cinemas,” Vivek said. “The trailer has been well-received, and the humor is a refreshing change.” He feels people are tired of the darker, serious content that dominates OTT platforms. “If we offer something fresh and entertaining, I believe audiences will be keen to watch it.”
