Actor Ranveer Singh is gearing up to start filming his new zombie thriller, Pralay, next month. After completing the initial shoot, he plans to take a break to spend quality time with his family following the arrival of his second child with wife Deepika Padukone.
The first filming schedule is set to wrap up around Diwali. Reportedly, production will pause temporarily after this phase and will not resume until 2027, giving Ranveer the chance to focus on his expanding family.
Pralay is being directed by Jai Mehta, and the first schedule will take place during the festive season. Ranveer’s decision to take paternity leave after the birth of his second child means that filming will be on hold before the team resumes their work next year.
The screenplay for Pralay has been co-written by Jai Mehta and Vishal Kapoor, known for his work on the web series Lootere. While details about the plot remain mostly secret, it has been described as a thrilling adventure into the zombie genre, a relatively new territory for Hindi cinema.
This film will be Ranveer’s next big project after the success of Dhurandhar, which released on December 5, 2025, and became one of his most successful films. Following that, a sequel titled Dhurandhar: The Revenge was released on March 19, 2026, boosting the franchise’s popularity.
Currently, neither Ranveer nor the production team has officially confirmed the filming schedule.
