Magnum Ice Cream Company Launches New Innovation Center in Bengaluru

The Magnum Ice Cream Company has officially opened a new Research, Design, and Innovation Centre in Bengaluru, India. Situated in the bustling tech area of Whitefield, this new facility covers 13,000 square feet and is equipped with a laboratory and a pilot plant designed with digital capabilities.

This center will focus on developing new products and processes, packaging solutions, and gaining consumer insights. Its goal is to create ice cream products that resonate with Indian tastes and cultural occasions.

The facility aims to boost innovation across several popular brands like Kwality Wall’s, Cornetto, Magnum, Carte D’Or, Feast, and Twister. It combines the art of ice cream making with modern technology to enhance product offerings.

With support from Bengaluru’s food science industry and local start-ups, the centre will include features like ice cream creation, product testing, sensory evaluations, and the latest technologies in the pilot plant. These advancements will allow for quicker experimentation with various ice cream types, from cones to premium cakes.

Additionally, the center will conduct cold-chain and climate testing, as well as create 3D models for packaging. This ensures that new products are tailored to the real conditions of the Indian market.

The new facility will collaborate closely with TMICC’s Global Design Centre in the UK and their Regional Innovation Hub in Turkey. This partnership aims to harness local market insights to develop innovative products more efficiently.

Chitrank Goel, the deputy managing director of Kwality Wall’s India, expressed enthusiasm about the new center, highlighting Kwality Wall’s long history in the Indian ice cream market. He noted that the new resources would help the company adapt to changing consumer preferences and continue to offer products that are deeply aligned with Indian culture.

The Bengaluru innovation centre represents an exciting step forward for the Magnum Ice Cream Company as it seeks to build a future-ready ice cream business in India.
