Fleetwood Market’s New Star: Rebekah Morris

Fleetwood Market is buzzing with excitement as local entrepreneur Rebekah Morris has found her footing through a special training program. The Incubator Programme is designed to equip budding business owners with the skills they need to succeed in the real world.

Rebekah was chosen from many hopefuls to launch her pet-themed stall, New Leash of Life, in the heart of Fleetwood Market. This initiative is part of a larger investment from Wyre Council, supported by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, aimed at fostering small businesses in the community.

Throughout the program, Rebekah has gained valuable experience in managing and promoting her market stall. With the help of her mentors from Fleetwood Market, she has taken full control of her business while still having guidance when needed.

Market Manager Julian Brent expressed his joy, saying, “It’s incredibly rewarding to see Rebekah’s idea blossom into a successful venture. This shows that markets can be more than just shopping spots—they can be places of opportunity. I’m proud of what she has accomplished and look forward to her continued success.”

The Incubator Programme aims to assist unemployed individuals by providing them with practical skills, knowledge, and the confidence to become self-employed traders.

Rebekah shared her enthusiasm about the experience, stating, “This opportunity has been amazing and has boosted my confidence to build a career. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for me!”

Councillor Peter Le Marinel, who oversees planning and economic development, also praised the program. “Fleetwood Market is a cornerstone of our community. This initiative helps local entrepreneurs transform their ideas into real businesses. Supporting budding business owners not only benefits them but also enhances our town centers. I’m thrilled to see Rebekah embrace this chance and can’t wait to watch her business grow.”

This project highlights Wyre Council’s commitment to empowering locals, enhancing business skills, and revitalizing community markets.
