Ranveer Singh is all set to begin production on his eagerly awaited film, Pralay. Initially, there were plans to start shooting in August 2026, but recent updates indicate that the filming will now kick off in September. A significant portion of the shoot will take place in Australia.
Directed by Jai Mehta, Pralay aims to be one of Ranveer’s most ambitious roles yet. This film will present audiences with a thrilling post-apocalyptic zombie story set in a dystopian version of Mumbai.
According to reports, Ranveer has already started preparing for the physically and emotionally intense role. He is undergoing rigorous training in anticipation of the filming. An insider mentioned, “Ranveer will begin shooting in the latter half of 2026. The preparation is essential due to the film’s scale and genre.”
Pre-production activities are currently taking place in Australia, where the director and team are working with experienced technicians from international projects. They are focused on crafting the film’s expansive post-apocalyptic environment, with significant visual effects expected to enhance the zombie narrative.
The film’s screenplay is also being refined, with the writing team working diligently to develop a unique zombie universe. Pralay follows a married couple’s struggle for survival amid a zombie crisis, promising a unique blend of thrilling action and heartfelt storytelling.
As of now, the female lead has not been officially confirmed. Earlier reports suggested that actress Kalyani Priyadarshan, the daughter of filmmaker Priyadarshan, might make her Bollywood debut opposite Ranveer, but no official announcements have been made yet.
