New Release Date Announced for ‘Toxic’
After much anticipation and several delays, the creators of Toxic have finally shared a new release date for the film. Starring Yash and directed by Geetu Mohandas, this action drama is now set to hit theaters worldwide on August 26, 2026.
The announcement followed a buzz on the film’s social media pages, where a cryptic post asked followers if they had plans for the next day. Fans quickly speculated that a significant update was coming, and indeed, the team confirmed the long-awaited release date soon after, putting an end to the uncertainty surrounding its premiere.
A Complicated Path to Release
Toxic has had a tumultuous journey to the big screen. Initially slated for an April 10, 2025, release, the film faced delays due to its ambitious scale and extended filming schedule. Principal photography wrapped up in October 2025, but the release was then pushed to March 19, 2026.
Just weeks before this new date, producers announced another delay, citing geopolitical issues in the Middle East as a reason. Since this region is crucial for the film’s overseas success, the team decided it was wise to postpone.
The release was later shifted to June 4, 2026, but further adjustments occurred as the filmmakers aimed to perfect the final product.
Toxic vs. Eetha
The newly confirmed release date for Toxic puts it just two days ahead of Shraddha Kapoor’s film, Eetha, which is set to premiere on August 28, 2026. Currently, no other significant films are scheduled for that timeframe, making late August a key period at the box office.
It seems fans will have an exciting end to the summer with these two films vying for attention.
