Actor Preity Zinta has taken an important step by filing a case in the Bombay High Court against several major companies, including Google and Meta Platforms. She claims these entities have been involved in creating and sharing AI-generated deepfake videos and altered images that feature her without permission. The court has allowed her to pursue a full civil suit, focusing on violations of her personality rights, copyrights, and professional image.

Zinta’s legal team argues that numerous websites have produced and distributed misleading digital content, which has been made public across social media and other online platforms. This unauthorized use of her likeness is not just harmful to her reputation but also breaches her legal rights.

In her legal documents, Zinta expresses that this altered content threatens her goodwill and public image. Her lawyer emphasized that these issues have a global reach, even though some of the defendants are outside of Mumbai’s jurisdiction. Despite this, Zinta has pursued the case in the Bombay High Court, and the court has granted her permission to proceed.

Looking ahead, the legal proceedings are expected to unfold in the coming weeks, as Zinta aims to protect her rights and image.
