Canon India has launched an exciting new initiative called #IndiaInMotion, aimed at empowering the next generation of filmmakers and visual storytellers across the country. This movement will run for eight months and encourages creators to capture stories that reflect the diverse cultures and communities of India.

The launch of #IndiaInMotion coincides with the introduction of Canon’s newest video equipment, specifically the EOS R6V camera and the RF 20-50 F4L IS USM Lens. This initiative serves as a platform for creators to showcase their work, providing them access to Canon’s advanced imaging technology and learning opportunities.

Throughout the campaign, creators will have the chance to participate in challenges, submit films, and engage in community events. The program is set to culminate with 12 talented creators receiving the EOS R6V kit to create original films, while one overall winner will have the opportunity to develop their passion project further.

Prominent filmmaker Shakun Batra, known for successful films like “Kapoor & Sons” and “Gehraiyaan,” has joined as the face of the campaign. His recent work also includes AI-driven storytelling, making him a fitting ambassador for #IndiaInMotion. Batra plans to engage with creators through mentorship and discussions, aiming to inspire emerging talent in filmmaking.

To add a unique touch to the initiative, Canon India has partnered with the music duo Maati Baani to create an original soundtrack for #IndiaInMotion. This track will be featured in promotional material and content generated by users, enhancing the campaign’s unified cinematic voice.

The initiative is themed around six key areas: Weddings, Travel, Festivals, Wildlife, Fashion, and Food, each representing different facets of life and culture in India.

In a statement about #IndiaInMotion, Mr. Vishesh Magoo from Canon India highlighted the significant shift towards video storytelling in India. He emphasized the initiative’s purpose—to encourage new talent and facilitate creative expression through innovative tools and platforms.

Shakun Batra expressed enthusiasm about the campaign, noting the changing landscape of filmmaking. He praised Canon’s efforts in supporting creators, enabling them to document and explore life’s moments more creatively.

Overall, #IndiaInMotion aims to celebrate and democratize storytelling for creators throughout India, providing a robust platform for cinematic expression in a rapidly changing media landscape. With its focus on diverse narratives, the initiative seeks to nurture the future of visual storytelling in the country.
