France Leads in World Cup Hopes While Retail and Beverage Stocks Shine

France is becoming a strong contender for the World Cup, and this is catching the eye of investors, particularly in the retail and beverage sectors. Brazilian brokerage XP is looking at how the excitement around soccer could also boost certain consumer brands.

According to XP’s analysis, which includes insights from over 10,000 simulations and more than 3,300 international matches, France has around a 9% chance of winning the World Cup, placing it ahead of teams like Spain and Argentina. In contrast, Goldman Sachs has a different take, giving Spain a 26% chance of clinching the trophy, showing that opinions can vary widely among analysts.

As the discussions on potential winners continue, experts see new investment opportunities on the horizon. XP predicts that the upcoming 48-team tournament in North America will not only boost tourism but also positively impact transportation, themed merchandise, and streaming services globally. In Brazil, companies like Grupo SBF and Ambev are expected to benefit from the anticipated increase in demand.
