However, he also praised their bowling attack, which he believed was among the best in the league. This opinion was echoed in a stunning display on Tuesday night in Ahmedabad, as Kagiso Rabada and Mohammed Siraj demonstrated just how formidable their bowling can be.
The Titans may not always score heavily with their batsmen, but their bowlers have repeatedly found ways to stifle their opponents. This time, the Sunrisers Hyderabad found themselves at the mercy of Rabada and Siraj during the powerplay, leading to a crushing 82-run defeat that marked SRH’s lowest total in IPL history.
Gujarat’s Bowling Power
Chasing a target of 168, Gujarat recognized that taking early wickets would be crucial. Thanks to Rabada and Siraj’s relentless pace and aggression, they quickly put Hyderabad in a tough spot, reducing them to just 34 runs for 3 wickets within the powerplay. From then on, it felt less like a match and more like a struggle for survival for the Sunrisers.
This victory was also significant for the Titans’ playoff hopes. With 16 points now, they reached what is often called the “magic number” in a 10-team tournament, as no team has ever failed to make the playoffs after hitting this mark.
