IPL 2026, DC vs KKR: Angkrish Raghuvanshi’s Unlucky Dismissal Saga Persists

Angkrish Raghuvanshi’s Unusual Dismissal Stuns Fans in IPL 2026

In the ongoing IPL 2026 season, Angkrish Raghuvanshi of the Kolkata Knight Riders has had his fair share of shocking dismissals. During KKR’s match against the Delhi Capitals on Thursday night, Raghuvanshi found himself leaving the field in a rather unexpected manner, and he could only laugh about it.

While chasing a target of 143 runs at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, KKR started strong with Finn Allen and captain Ajinkya Rahane hitting some quick boundaries. However, the smooth innings quickly turned chaotic.

The drama began with Rahane’s unfortunate run-out. A speedy yorker from Mitchell Starc hit his hand and then deflected onto the stumps, catching Rahane out of his crease after he had strayed too far.

Then came Raghuvanshi’s moment of misfortune. Attempting to sweep a delivery from Axar Patel, the ball brushed his glove and took an unusual path; it bounced off his shoulder, dropped onto his shoe, and rolled back onto the stumps. Raghuvanshi was completely unaware of the ball’s journey until he saw the bails dislodge, prompting him to burst into laughter.

This isn’t the first time Raghuvanshi has faced an odd dismissal this season. Earlier in the tournament, he became only the fourth player in IPL history to be dismissed for obstructing the field. That incident stirred up quite a bit of controversy when he was judged to have intentionally blocked a throw while attempting to reach his crease, leading to confusion in the KKR camp. The ruling was later supported by the MCC, stating it fell under a “willful act.”

Unfortunately, his frustration from that earlier incident resulted in further penalties, as he was fined 20% of his match fee for slamming his bat in anger on that occasion.

However, Raghuvanshi’s dismissal against Delhi this time was just a stroke of bad luck, nothing more.

As the season continues, fans will be eager to see how Raghuvanshi bounces back from these unexpected moments on the field.
