DP World Welcomes Omani Delegation to Discuss Al Rawdah Special Economic Zone

DP World recently hosted an important delegation from Oman’s Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ). The meeting was focused on the development and progress of the Al Rawdah Special Economic Zone.

The delegation was led by Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Chairman of OPAZ. Essa Kazim, the Group Chairman of DP World, along with Group CEO Yuvraj Narayan and other senior leaders from DP World, were present to engage in discussions.

The delegation met in Dubai and also toured the site of the Al Rawdah Special Economic Zone, located in the Wilayat of Mahdah in Al Buraimi Governorate. The conversations centered around recent achievements in the project and the growth of its infrastructure.

The Al Rawdah Special Economic Zone is strategically positioned near the UAE-Oman border and offers direct access to Sohar Port and Jebel Ali Port. This zone aims to draw investment in various sectors, including logistics, warehousing, light manufacturing, food processing, pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, plastics, mining, and industrial services, aligning with the economic goals of Dubai’s Economic Agenda D33 and Oman Vision 2040.

Kazim highlighted the importance of the zone, stating, “The Al Rawdah Special Economic Zone will promote investment, foster industrial growth, and enhance regional supply chains. Our ongoing collaboration with OPAZ showcases our dedication to creating a top-tier economic zone that provides genuine opportunities for businesses and adds lasting economic value to both Oman and the UAE.”

In response, Al Yousef noted, “The Al Rawdah Special Economic Zone signifies the strong economic ties between Oman and the UAE. Our talks with DP World have explored effective strategies for boosting the competitiveness of economic zones, reinforcing supply chains, and attracting high-quality investments. We are eager to see further advancements in making Al Rawdah a viable platform for growth and investment.”
