GREENVILLE, S.C. — Prisma Health has announced that normal visitation and masking rules have been restored at all its hospitals, following the official end of the recent measles outbreak in the Upstate.
The health system stated that it will no longer enforce enhanced masking requirements in emergency departments, labor and delivery units, and ambulatory practices.
Additionally, the visitation restrictions that were put in place due to the outbreak have been lifted, allowing families and friends to visit patients under the usual policies.
However, Prisma Health’s infectious disease experts are still advising people to stay cautious. Health officials remind the community to remain alert for measles, as outbreaks continue in other areas of the United States, and some cases related to international travel are still being reported.
