Bengaluru Misses Out on IPL 2026 Final Hosting
In an unexpected announcement, Bengaluru will not host the final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. Instead, Ahmedabad has been chosen for this important match, surprising many fans.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the IPL Governing Council issued a statement about the playoffs, clarifying that Bengaluru was initially set to host the final. However, certain requirements from local authorities that went beyond the BCCI’s usual guidelines led to a change in plans.
The statement explained, “Due to specific operational and logistical issues, the IPL 2026 Playoffs will take place across three different venues this season. Bengaluru was originally planned to host the final. However, the local authorities’ requirements caused the venue to be reassigned.”
On Tuesday, the BCCI also announced that Qualifier 1 will take place in Dharamshala, while both the Eliminator and Qualifier 2 will be held in New Chandigarh. The tournament will conclude with the final in Ahmedabad.
