This latest result places them at the top of the points table, with nine points out of a possible ten, continuing the strong performance they showcased last season. After narrowly missing out on the IPL 2025 final against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, PBKS is determined to chase the title this year with consistent effort.
How Punjab Kings Overcame Mumbai Indians
The Punjab Kings showcased a strong performance, successfully chasing down a total of 196 runs against the Mumbai Indians. MI had set the bar high with a solid score, thanks in part to Quinton de Kock’s century and Naman Dhir’s valuable contribution.
In response, Prabhsimran Singh led the charge for PBKS, finishing with an impressive 80 runs off just 39 balls. Captain Shreyas Iyer supported him with a notable 66 runs off 35 balls. Together, they built a crucial 139-run partnership that effectively sealed the game for their team.
Earlier in the match, Arshdeep Singh played a pivotal role with three wickets, helping to contain Mumbai’s scoring. Ultimately, the Punjab Kings chased down the target in just 16.3 overs, winning by seven wickets and further extending their remarkable run in the tournament.
